Girls are welcome and train in our regular U6–U18 groups, side by side with the rest of the academy.

Real ice

We skate year-round on a full-size sheet of real indoor ice (60×30 m) at Sport Society in Mirdif, competition ice while it's 45°C outside.

A clear path for girls

A girl can start with no experience at all and grow step by step, the same path the whole academy follows.

Learn to Skate Skating basics U6–U18 hockey groups Women's team Ladies' ice sessions

Beginners learn balance, gliding, stopping and turning, then move into stickhandling, passing and game play. Confident skaters can step straight into a hockey group. Coaches build skills from the ground up, so a first-timer is never out of place.

Girls, U6 to U18

Your daughter joins the regular youth academy and trains in the right age group for her, with professional coaches. Sessions run through the week at Sport Society in Mirdif and Sharjah, plus off-ice work. Beginners welcome.

Frequently asked questions

Can a girl play ice hockey in Dubai?

Yes. Girls are welcome at Galaxy Hockey Academy and train in our regular U6–U18 age groups alongside everyone else. The first trial lesson is free and rental gear is available, so a girl can simply step on the ice and try.

Does Galaxy have a women's hockey team?

Yes. Galaxy has a women's team, and the weekly schedule also includes ladies' ice sessions for women who want to skate and play in a welcoming environment. Message us and we'll point you to the right session for your level.

From what age can girls start hockey?

Girls can start from around 6 years old. We run age groups from U6 up to U18, and beginners are welcome, our coaches build skating and game skills from the ground up, with a Learn to Skate path for first-timers.

Do girls train separately from boys?

In the youth academy, girls train in the same U6–U18 age groups as everyone else. For adults, the club has a women's team and ladies' ice sessions, so women can also play together.

Does my daughter need her own equipment?

No. Rental gear is available, so beginners, newcomers to Dubai and visitors can just come and skate. The first trial is free, tell us her age and any experience and we'll arrange a time at Sport Society, Mirdif.
